Day 23 – Patterson Program
This has been an interesting experiment to date.
I am at day 23 on the Patterson Program, and this is where I’m at…
So 4 days on complete cleanse – only drinking cucumber and celery.
15 days on the foundation which brought in a mix of quinoa, buckwheat, and amaranth. This was amazing as I had various things happen with my body/pain…
- About 6 days into the diet, I had the most amazing relief around my wrists. For the past nearly 3 years it’s felt as if I had elastic bands around my wrists, and those “elastic bands” are now gone. Yes, I still have some pain in my wrists but the majority of the swelling is beginning to disappear.
- The pain in my hands and fingers have come back. Not as bad as it was before but more as if my hands are cramping, and not shooting pains. My fingers are also not bending again but at least I feel more in control than I did before.
- The most amazing thing that happened my knee lost a ton of swelling and suddenly worked normally. Although my leg was not straightening out yet, at least I could put my legs together which I had not been able to do for the past 6 months.
- Total loss of 15lbs in 15 days which was awesome, because taking weight off helps my joints tremendously.
After 15 days on the foundation, I had started reintroducing different things to my diet. With various mixed results.
- I am struggling with all the greens. Not that I don’t love green its getting boring because everything is made with no salt or pepper and I am used to that.
- Unfortunately, I had a flare up that started 2 days ago and my knee was the first “soldier” to fall. So it’s back to page one on that. As I am back to trying to walk around, and all I am coming up with is a hobble with a walking stick. But hey at least I can hobble around which is better than nothing.
- Some things definitely don’t agree with me and I feel it immediately. The minute I include anything that is curry related I feel it within minutes and for some reason, it makes me incredibly tired.
- Also, I honestly don’t think potatoes agree with me. Same instant reaction in my hands.
Now I’m down another pound and I’m sitting on day 23. Just going to carry on and lean more towards the base of the diet, and just once a day try a new introduction. I also have to be honest with myself and admit I’ve cut back a little on my water and that’s not so great. I’m on about 1.5 liters a day and I should be on 3. I have to fix this as soon as possible.
I still swim every day except of course if it rains. I love it, it’s the only place I feel completely normal, and I have on occasion pushed myself a little with the swim and it’s paying off to get me back to normal movement.
