Garlic
Now if you in any way know me then you know that Garlic is my thing. I have so much garlic in me that I should be the healthiest person walking.
It is common knowledge that Garlic has an anti-inflammatory property which reduces the pain and inflammation of arthritis. But what else is there about it?
Garlic contains selenium which is a mineral found in soil, which helps regulate thyroid function, immune response and also contains manganese which is an antioxidant.
It is very rich in sulfur which plays and essential role in collagen production. Collagen helps form cartilage tissue.
Garlic has vitamins B6 and C. It is anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-fungal and may protect against some cancers. (But I believe there have not been enough tests to prove this yet)
Garlic has cardiovascular benefits. It can reduce blood pressure and cholesterol which help to protect against a condition known as atherosclerosis ( a thickening of the artery walls) which means a reduction in the chance of a heart attack or stroke.
Garlic inhibits the formation of free radicals that can cause joint damage
Garlic also contains allicin, which is a compound that helps in preventing the reproduction and growth of micro-organisms which aggravate the symptoms of arthritis.
If all is said and done, garlic has been used for many years to treat many things, because it helps with swelling and tenderness.
Garlic Contains Antioxidants That May Help Prevent Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia. It contains a compound called Allicin, which has potent medicinal properties.

Home Remedy
In fact, during the middle ages, people used to tie crushed garlic in a muslin cloth around painful and swollen regions of the body to help find relief. It’s quite easy to heat some garlic cloves in mustard oil, let this oil cool down and use this oil concoction for gently massaging your aching joints as many times during the day as you need to.
While some people say it’s best to eat raw (mashed) and cooked (roasted) together, there are warnings out there that raw garlic can irritate the stomach and digestive tract. Because garlic thins the blood, be careful about how much garlic you eat if you take prescription drugs or an over-the-counter medication like aspirin that can thin your blood.
Avoid using old garlic, the longer it stands around the less Allicin it has and that’s what you need. To be honest, I know how good garlic is for you, and that is just one of the reasons I use it so much, but let’s face it, it is the best flavoring ingredient on the planet.
